From 11th to 12th October 2016, Prof Kevin Truman, Dean of the School of Computing and Engineering, and Vice Provost of University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), along with Ms Huan Ding, the Chinese Program Director participated in the Global Partner Week held by the Office of International Cooperation, Northwestern Polytechnical University. On October 12th, Prof. Truman and Ms Ding paid a special visit to the School of Software and Microelectronics and discussed collaborations on student cultivation. This is the second time for Prof Truman to visit the school, with the first visit paid during March this year. For the first visit, two parties had talked about NPU-UMKC 3+1+1 student joint cultivation program and further details were communicated since then. The agreement for the joint cultivation program was signed in the afternoon of October 12th between Prof. Truman on behalf of the School of Computing and Engineering, UMKC and Prof. Fan Xiaoya on behalf of the School of Software and Microelectronics, NPU.
Both parties agree that both sides shall strengthen collaborations on student exchange and teacher communications and extend more channels for science researches and talents training of software industry.
