From Oct 14-15, and Oct 21, the 4th International Lecture Series of School of Software was successfully held in Xi’an. This lecture series was aimed at strengthening the cooperation of NPU with foreign universities in the area of software engineering, by providing an international platform of academic exchange for experts and scholars from overseas. The activity was organized by the School of Software, co-sponsored by China International Talent Exchange Foundation and Office of Global Engagement, Northwestern Polytechnical University.
In the morning of Oct 14th, the Opening Ceremony for the activity was held. Mr. Zhang Jianxin, the Deputy Chief Accountant, on behalf of NPU, welcomed the foreign experts and scholars from around the world and made a short introduction of NPU. He also gave his best congratulations to the opening of this event and hoped it would further improve the discipline development of software engineering of NPU.
Liu Xiaogang, Deputy Director of the Office of Global Engagement, Zheng Jiangbin, Deputy Dean of the School of Software (in charge of work) also delivered a short welcoming talk respectively, hoping that the 14 foreign experts would enjoy their stay in Xi’an and conduct in-depth academic exchange in the topic of the event. After that, on behalf of the foreign experts and scholars, Prof He Xiangjian, from University of Technology, Sydney, Australia gave a short speech. He expressed his appreciation for the invitation of NPU and further mentioned that he would help enhance the international exchanges and development of NPU.
The lecture series lasted for three days, 14 experts and scholars brought about 14 wonderful speeches on different topics, such as IoT, AI, Automatic Driving, Machine Learning, etc. They also conducted further cooperation with the professors and scholars from NPU.
